About me:
My name is Antti and I love working with sound. I’m kind of all over the place when someone asks what I do, but to summarize it, I’m a sound engineer, songwriter and a musician. Sounds simple enough? Well, let me explain:
I’ve been working with live sound in opera and ballet shows in Helsinki, filming Love Island reality-TV in Spain, playing drums in a prog rock band, picking acoustic guitar in a blues project, and doing sound design for theatre and movies. To make it even more complicated, I also do instrument arrangements to beats for rappers, and have written songs from ’80s pop to industrial drum and bass.
And I want to do more.
I see myself working with artists and directors, who are curious about my sonic vision.
I bring to the table my expertise with studio technology and skills with music and sound. Usually the best outcome comes when we can feed off of each other’s ideas.
If you don’t need my artistic input, that’s fine, I can mix or record or something, and keep my mouth shut. As a Finnish person being quiet comes naturally. I may crack a joke every once in a while though.
If I’m not in the studio, I’m most likely running and working out. It’s my daily dose of therapy.

Foley Artist
FINNISH NATIONAL OPERA AND BALLET
The work at the Opera has been really versatile. I’ve been monitoring up to 50 wireless mics in opera and musical shows, playing music and effects with Qlab in ballet rehearsals and shows, mixing live bands, recording the symphony orchestra, working as a stage hand in seminars, creating ambiences, editing videos and so on.
REALITY-TV: BIG BROTHER, LOVE ISLAND, PARADISE HOTEL
As a sound engineer in a reality-TV team I mix the wireless mics of the contestants to the live feed, from where the episodes are edited. While mixing I also look for some juicy content that the director would be interested in. The work includes field audio recording while the contestants are out on dates.
SOUND DESIGN: MOVIES AND THEATRE
I have made ambiences and sound effects for theatre shows, and at the moment I’m writing music and creating sound scapes for a short film. Also I’ve had fun working as a foley artist for a children’s movie, and a Zombie B-film.
GARDENHEAD
I play drums and write songs for a prog rock band Gardenhead. Our debut album came out in January 2024. The band was in the final of Welcome to Latin America -competition 2023, won a jury award from HOFA Song Contest, and has been working with Grammy winning producer Darrell Thorp.
ANDY RUBIO
I have listened to a lot of blues and southern rock since I was young, and I fell in love with the finger picking style guitar playing I heard on the dusty records. Now I’m a passionate acoustic guitar player and Andy Rubio is my blues project. I play covers and originals with guest singers and by myself.
CAPTAIN SILK
Although I’m a rock drummer and a blues guitarist, I listen to mostly RNB, hip hop and pop nowadays. That’s why I’m into making beats and pop tunes as well. Captain Silk is my pseudonym for that side of me. My goal is to do collaborations with other artists and write some bangers.
